In the World Cup match, Wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni used to be the special 'sacrifice' given to the parachute unit of the para commandos. Presently the topic of these gloves is being debated across the country. The order has been given to the Board of Control for Cricket in India. On the other hand Indians have opposed it. #DhoniKeepTheGlove hashtag is trending on social media. Even Bollywood artists have supported Dhoni. Actor Riteish Deshmukh also showed support to Dhoni by tweeting about this.
"Though no political party is in power, the Indian army has always been independent. We are proud of them. Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Singh Dhoni used gloves to mark the 'sacrifice' symbol of pride. This is not the hurt of anyone, it is the honor of the brave actors, "said Riteish, using the #DhoniKeepTheGlove hashtag.
Indian Army has always been independent irrespective of the political party in power. We are proud of them. Lt. Col. @msdhoni has worn the Army insignia as a symbol of pride. Doesn’t hurt anyone’s sentiments, In fact it honours the brave #DhoniKeepTheGlove #WorldCup2019— Riteish Deshmukh (@Riteishd) June 7, 2019
It is love that Dhoni has shown his love for the army and there is no wrong in it. That is why netizens have said that Dhoni should use gloves in the ICC and also in the next matches.
In 2011, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was honored with the rank of Mancha Lieutenant Colonel by the Indian Army. Dhoni has also trained para trooping with this. Dhoni is a member of the 106 Parachute Regiment of Indian Army. Dhoni was trained as a paratrooper with the training in 2015. After the five-jump jump from the Indian Air Force's AN-32 aircraft, the para trooping training of the army was completed. Therefore, in the match against South Africa, Dhoni had entered the Gloves with a special sacrifice symbol. However, the order has been passed from the ICC to the BCCI to remove this mark.
