Mohanthal is a traditional Gujarati dessert recipe, especially on the occasion of Janmashtami and Navratri. Like all Gujarati dishes, this dish is quick and easy to make. Although Mohanthal is a recipe made in the festival, but whenever you want to eat something tasty and healthy, you can make this recipe. This is a common desert recipe that people of all ages like.
Ingredients of Mohanthal recipe
1 cup gram flour
¼ cup khoya
¼ cup milk
2 tsp green cardamom powder
12 inch silver work
1 cup ghee
3 cups sugar
¼ tsp saffron 2 drops vanilla essence
For decoration
1 tbsp finely chopped almonds
1 tablespoon finely chopped pistachios
How to make Mohanthal recipe
Mohanthal is a perfect Gujarati sweet dish that you can easily make at home. To make this dish, first place a pan on medium heat and heat the ghee.
When the ghee gets hot, add gram flour and cook it while stirring until the raw smell is gone. Add milk in it and cover the pan in the lid.
Now heat the water by placing a pan on medium heat. Add sugar to it and cook while stirring until the sugar disappears. When the sugar syrup thickens, remove it from the heat. Add saffron and cardamom powder to it and mix it well. After that add khoya and gram flour and mix well until it becomes thick. Add vanilla essence to it and put this mixture in a greased plate.
Now smooth the upper part of this sweet dish with the back of the spoon. Mohanthal is ready, decorate it with almonds, pistachios, and silver work and keep it aside to cool. Cut this recipe into the shape of your choice before it cools down completely. You can serve it with Kachori, Khakhara, Khandvi, and Pakoras.
