Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival! The time has come to make different types of modaks, which are favorite of Ganesha.It is a modak recipe where modak made from rice flour is made with a mixture of jaggery and coconut.
While this dish is specially made for the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi , you can make this sweet dish anytime for your entire family, especially for children.
Ingredients
2 cups rice flour
1 1/2 cups grated jaggery
2 cups freshly grated coconut
1 tbsp khas-khas
1/2 tsp Ilychi powder
1 tsp ghee , Guthne To shut up
How Make Ukadiche modak
Method for flour
Boil 13/4 cups of water in a deep non-stick pan.
Pour rice flour in a deep bowl and mix it well by adding hot water slowly. Mix well with a spoon first and then knead soft and smooth dough with hands.
Cover with a lid and keep it for 10 minutes.
For the stuffing
Heat a deep non-stick pan, add jaggery and cook on a slow flame for 1 to 2 minutes or until the jaggery melts, stirring continuously.
Add coconut, poppy seeds and cardamom powder, mix well and cook on a slow flame for 4-5 minutes or until all the water is dry and the mixture thickens. Keep it to cool slightly.
Divide the mixture into 21 parts.
Final Step For Make Modak
Knead the dough again with 1/2 tsp ghee.
Chop the modak mold with ghee and close it.
Take a portion of the dough and press it into the molds and spread it completely.
Fill the dough with a portion of the stuffing mixture.
Take a little flour and press and fill in the molds, so that the mixture is well covered.
Take out the modak from the mold.
Repeat steps 2 to 7 to make 20 more modaks.
Place a steamer plate in the steamer and cover it with banana leaves.
Moisten all the modak with your fingers with light water.
Place 10 modaks on the banana leaf and steam it for 10 minutes on medium heat.
Repeat method number O 0 to make 11 more modaks.
Serve at lukewarm temperature.
